Billing & Credits Policy

This Billing & Credits Policy describes how PocketESign document credits work. It forms part of the Terms of Service.

1. Free credits

Each new PocketESign account receives three promotional credits after the account email address has been verified. Promotional credits have no cash value, are non-transferable and may be limited or withdrawn in cases of abuse, duplicate-account creation or fraudulent activity.

2. Paid credit packs

PocketESign offers the following one-time packs: 10 credits for $4.90, 30 credits for $11.70 and 100 credits for $29.00. These are one-time purchases, not subscriptions. Paid checkout may be used by eligible individuals or organizations and requires the billing information requested by Stripe Managed Payments.

3. Expiration

PocketESign credits do not expire while the account remains open and in good standing, unless a specific promotional offer clearly states otherwise.

4. When a credit is reserved

When a customer sends a signing request, PocketESign reserves one available credit for that request. A reserved credit is temporarily unavailable for another signing request. Reservation prevents an account from sending more simultaneously active requests than its available credit balance.

5. When a credit is consumed

A reserved credit is permanently consumed only when the signing request reaches the Completed state. The number of recipients on that signing request does not change the one-credit charge.

6. When a reserved credit is released

If a reserved signing request is cancelled, declined or expires without completion, PocketESign releases that reserved credit back to the account. Draft documents do not reserve a credit.

7. Reminders and downloads

Sending a supported reminder, viewing a document, downloading a completed document or downloading its available completion record does not consume an additional credit.

8. Refunds and payment disputes

Because credits are digital service units made available to the account after a successful payment, purchases are generally final except where applicable law requires otherwise or a refund is approved through the applicable Stripe Managed Payments or PocketESign support process. If a payment is refunded, reversed, disputed or charged back, PocketESign may remove the corresponding unused credits, adjust the account balance or suspend paid features where necessary to prevent a negative or abusive balance. Mandatory consumer refund or withdrawal rights, where applicable, are not excluded.

9. Taxes

Eligible paid purchases are processed through Stripe Managed Payments. For those transactions, Stripe acts as merchant of record and handles applicable indirect tax calculation, collection and remittance. Taxes may be added to the listed pack price at checkout depending on the customer location and applicable rules. The amount shown by Stripe at checkout is the amount the customer authorizes for the transaction.

10. Account closure

Unused purchased credits are not transferable between accounts and have no cash value. If you voluntarily close an account, unused credits do not automatically convert to a cash refund, except where applicable law requires otherwise or PocketESign expressly agrees to a refund.
